THE LORD OF BRINDABAN!

Down pours the rain,
And lightning doth flash:
But He is come,
The Lord of Brindaban is come!

Fierce blows the storm,
Old and insecure is my abode
But the Beloved has come,
Into my hut has the Beloved come!

In the sky the moon and the stars,
Are hidden by clouds black and dark
But I have got,
O! I have got the jewel of the Name Divine!

Heavy are the rains,
But unique is their message of love:
And fruitful has become my life,
Worthwhile has become my birth!

The storm doth rage,
And in the cold we shiver:
But in His mercy, the Lord has lighted the lamp,
O! He has lighted the lamp!

The visage of the Beloved,
Doth shine again and again:
O Nuri, the Lord Himself has come,
O! the Lord has come!
